This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and treat your personal data and how we comply with our legal obligations towards you. Your privacy is important, and we are committed to protect and to keep your personal data safe.

A. Who’s responsible for collecting and processing your personal data

The processing of any personal data collected by Europackers, or provided to it, is the responsibility of the company EUROPACKERS – TRANSPORTES E MUDANÇAS, Lda (hereinafter “Europackers” or “we”), whose contact details can be found further down in this Privacy Policy.

Europackers designated a Data Protection Officer who can be contacted by the email info@europackers.pt or by registered letter with a reception warning to Rua Francisco Carqueja, 179, 3º ESQ, 4350-185 PORTO.

B. How we collect your personal data and what type of data is obtained

Personal Data

The collected personal data is the one that you voluntarily provide (or the one you provide in response to a request from us) as part of a quote request for one of the services provided by Europackers, in order to contact Europackers or to give us your opinion regarding the level of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with our services.

This can include:

  • Your contact details: surname, name, address, telephone number, email;
  • If applicable, in the case of a quote request for a removal, storage and/or transport, specific data related to the service.

You are not obliged to provide Europackers with the requested personal data, but if you choose not to do so, we may not be able to provide you our services, submit a quote or answer any question you may have.

Cookies

Europackers can also automatically collect information by the use of cookies with your consent. Cookies are small amounts of information stored by the browser on the device where you access our website. Cookies can be permanent or temporary and are used to:

  • Ensure the good functioning of the website, activate all services, request a quote, subscribe to updates and newsletters, access the tracking portal;
  • Optimize the website’s browsing, namely through browsing statistics such as the number of visitors, the most visited pages, the connection time, the pages from which you access the website, the search engines used and the geographic location from where you are accessing the website.

You can change your browsers’s settings to accept or refuse cookies, and to block or delete cookies that have already been placed on your browser. If you refuse cookies, you may not be able to access some features of the website.

Europackers disclaims any responsibility for consequences associated with the low performance of the website resulting from the refusal of cookies.

C. Purposes and grounds for the processing of your personal data

Your personal data is processed by Europackers for the purposes of its activity, namely:

  • Process quote requests, send quotes, contact users after the sending of a quote or to prepare a specific quote;
  • Contact users who have requested contact by the website;
  • Reply to opinions and comments left by users;
  • Answer to user questions and complaints, and provide customer support;
  • Create and manage the personal accounts of customers: personal data will be used to identify the customer and provide the access to certain features of the website, namely the tracking service;
  • Implement marketing related operations, such as commercial offers, promotions, updates and newsletters;
  • Make satisfaction surveys;
  • Test and improve the website and the services;
  • Manage requests for the right to access, rectification or erasure, objection, restriction to the processing and portability of users’ personal data. 

D. With whom your personal data will be shared

In addition to the internal sharing of your data (for reasons based on Point C of this Privacy Policy), it can also be shared with the external service providers who work on behalf of Europackers.

Under the terms of the applicable law, Europackers is required to disclose data to the Tax Administration, Social Security, the Working Conditions Authority, and, following judicial mandates, to the judicial authorities.

E. The security of your personal data

Europackers takes all the possible measures to ensure the confidentiality and security of your personal data, as well as security measures to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

 

Our measures include the implementation of appropriate access controls to ensure the encryption and anonymity of your personal data whenever possible.

 

The access to your personal data is only allowed under the terms already described above, always depending on the actual need of your agreement, and complying with strict contractual confidentiality obligations when processed by third parties.

 

Although data transmission over the internet or on a website cannot guarantee a complete security against intrusions, Europackers makes the best effort to implement and maintain physical, electronic and procedural security measures designed to protect your personal data, complying with the applicable data protection requirements.

F. Retention time of your personal data

Europackers will only keep your data for the period strictly necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected.

Any personal data used for marketing purposes is kept for a period of three (3) years from the time it is collected on the website.

Any personal data collected from the use of cookies is kept for a period of thirteen (13) months from the time it was collected on the website.

When these periods expire, Europackers will destroy your personal data or will make them anonymous.

G. What are your rights?

As the holder of your personal data, you are guaranteed a set of rights in relation to your personal data and the way they are treated, which are as follows:

 

  • Right to opposition – that is, the right to object at any time, for reasons related to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you, under the terms of the GDPR;
  • Right to information – that is, the right to be given concise, transparent, understandable and easily accessible information, using clear and simple language, on how we use your personal data and on your rights;
  • Right to access – the right to access your personal data at all times;
  • Right to rectification – that is, the right to rectify inaccurate personal data concerning you, or to complete them if they prove to be incomplete;
  • Right for limitation – under certain conditions, the data subject has the right to limit the processing of his personal data;
  • Right to erasure – under certain conditions, the data subject has the right to obtain the erasure of his personal data from the controller, without justified delay;
  • Right to the portability of your personal data – that is, the right to receive personal data that concerns you and that you have provided, in a structured format, in current use and automatic reading, as well as the right to transmit that data to another responsible person for treatment, under certain conditions;

  • Right to withdraw your consent – in this case, the withdrawal of consent does not compromise the lawfulness of the treatment carried out based on the consent previously given;
  • Right not to be subject to decisions based on automated processes that produce legal or other significant effects.

These rights can be prosecuted at any time by a communication addressed to EUROPACKERS – TRANSPORTES E MUDANÇAS, Lda to the contacts indicated in this Privacy Policy.

 

Your requests will be handled with special care so that we can ensure the effectiveness of your rights.

 

You may be asked to provide proof of your identity to ensure that the personal data is only shared with the holder.
